Week 5 in the Baby Martin House

My period is a week late and I figured today is as good a day as any to finally do a pregnancy test.  My husband, David,  has been on at me for a few days now to do one but I wanted to make sure it wasnt just a late period.  We had no idea what we were buying in the pharmacy so just picked the Clear Blue one with two tests inside.

We got home but of course I didnt need to go to the toilet  - typical!  So then commenced the three glasses of water in quick succession to get my bladder moving.  The wait is unnerving.  I am quite an impatient person at the best of times so this was not helping.  After an hour I finally need the toilet and low and behold the test is positive.  I wait another hour and have another three glasses of water and do another test just to be sure.  That too is positive.

I am pregnant... I am really pregnant! It is hard to take it all in.  I walk into the study in a kind of daze and tell David that the second test is positive.  He comes over and gives me a great big hug and says very quietly in my ear "we're going to be parents" and I can't quite believe it!  I am anxious and nervous and worried all at the same time, but I know its good news and I figure it will take me time to get used to it.  Don't get me wrong I am happy I am pregnant but I think it is taking a while to sink in.  I had hoped I would be but it is still quite a shock!
